Performing Stars of Marin and Marin Housing Authority host the 14th Annual Marin City Blues, Jazz & Soul Party in the Park September 5, 2011.

The FREE community concert this year brings performers hosting the best ensemble of talent featuring a Tribute to Bay Area Blues Legends from San Francisco Fillmore District and West Oakland All Stars: Curtis Lawson, Fillmore Slim, Bobbie Webb, Tom Bowden and Jimy McCracklin featuring Henry Oden, Jeff Minnieweather, Kevin Burton, California Red, Carl Green and Sweet Meat Horn Section. This years Blues Headliner is Joe Louis Walker. Additional performers are Andre Theirry and Zydeco Magic, Pop/Soul group Pride and Joy and the soulful sound of Consonance Gospel Quartet.

This traditional affair preserves the History of the "Roots of Blues" and "Soul Music" bringing energy and excitement to Marin County attracting music lovers from all over the San Francisco Bay Area and State of California

Proceeds from event will go toward funding Performing Stars of Marin "Blues in the School" project supporting music education for the youth of Marin County. Many of the county programs were cut in recent years due to budget cuts. Performing Stars of Marin provides safe and structured enrichment programs for ages 2-17 enhancing academic skills, performing arts and music, physical activities and character-building traits.

This day of fundraising provides a wide range of education and entertainment combined with a full spectrum of live music, fun-filled activities for children in the Kid Zone, a variety of Ethnic Food & Beverages, a relaxed lawn Seating area, local "Arts and Crafts" vendors and "Civic Information" booths.  A true family event!
