Turning the Light Inward: 1/2 Day for Psychotherapists - (June/GGF)

Age Suitability: None Specified

Turning the Light Inward: A 1/2 Day Zen Sitting for Psychotherapists - June 16
Saturday, 9 am - 1 pm led by Steve Weintraub
(CE credits available - see below * )
Zen master Dogen says that essential to our Zen understanding is “taking the backward step, and turning the light inward.” In this zazen-focused morning, practicing as a community of psychotherapists with like minded people who face similar issues and challenges, we will work on ways of bringing our Zen practice to bear on our life’s work. This is a way to strengthen our root sense of purpose and refresh our practice. The morning will include 25-minute sitting meditation periods alternating with periods of walking meditation, and talks and discussion focusing on how our practice does and can inform our clinical work. This event is appropriate for those therapists who have had or would like to have experience with more extended sitting practice than is offered in a workshop setting. We’ll end our morning together by sharing a vegetarian lunch, provided by Green Gulch Farm. Add $15 one time fee to receive CE credit. (Select option above) * * 1.5 CEUs per date provided for MFTs, LCSWs, and Licensed Psychologists. For MFTs and LCSWs: BBS Provider #PCE 3978. For Licensed Psychologists: Spiritual Competency Resource Center. SCRC is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education activities.
