"It seems these days that everyone calls themselves a wine bar but few truly deliver," says owner Mark Dirsa, formerly owner of the venerable Hayes and Vine Wine Bar in San Francisco. "Each day Wine offers over 50 international wines by the glass or taste, and we change them every week. Our program encourages experimentation." And approachability. Unlike many so-called wine bars, Wine is committed to creating a comfortable and unpretentious environment to learn about wine regardless of price or origin.

Whether it's a white wine flight of four different Sauvignon Blancs from four different countries or an early 80's Barolo, Wine's mission is to showcase an interesting range of wines. The store also offers a light fare of cheeses, charcuterie, antipasto and smoked fish as a perfect accompaniment to its eclectic wine selections.
