Why Letter to Monet?

Since July 2004, 150 pieces of Muranaga's "Letter to Monet" original oil painting series have been collected worldwide. Her solo exhibit introduces new colors and brushstrokes that suggest the artist's ever-increasing spirit of taking her Monet Series to a new level and dimensions.

The "Letter to Monet" series began in July 2004, 2 days after Muranaga returned to her San Francisco studio from a visit to Musée Marmottan in Paris. The inspiration for this series came from one particular Monet painting she discovered at this museum.

Hotel Nikko in San Francisco houses over 30 original "Letter to Monet" pieces as their permanent corporate collection.
