Opening reception for SUSAN Z. BREYER's IMMERSION show
ArtPeople Gallery presents artist Susan Z. Breyer's work in a powerful and unique show: IMMERSION. The show will run from May 1st to May 20th.
Like all of my work, the "Immersion" paintings are fueled by my reverence for nature. They mirror my awe of the outdoors and project my wish to preserve our natural surroundings. They are about recognizing and respecting fragility and about the immense beauty and power in even a single drop of water.
These paintings are my attempt to depict the surprising duality of water. They are about force and delicacy, opaqueness and translucency, wet softness and frozen hardness, and about physical sensation and ephemeral impression.
I hope they give away some, but not all of water's secrets.
