Parenting is a stressful and challenging task. Children with attentional, behavioral, or emotional problems take significantly more effort and energy to parent relative to children without these concerns.
I am a San Francisco-based licensed psychologist (CA PSY #22555) specializing in working with parents of children with either attentional and behavioral problems (e.g., ADHD) or significant anxiety and worry.
I work with parents to teach them specific behavioral and cognitive-behavioral strategies for working with their children, with the following goals:
Improving children's functioning at home and school
Developing children's independence
Improving parent-child relationships
Providing parents with tools for their parenting toolbox and ways of thinking about child behavior that will help prevent problems in the future
In addition, I help families communicate with and collaborate with their child's school through school consultation when appropriate.
Finally, I am willing to provide presentations to the schools, teachers, or the community on topics related to my services (e.g., behavioral interventions in the classroom, coping with child anxiety, effective parenting).
