David Dunaway, visiting professor of Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts at San Francisco State University, discusses the legendary folk singer Pete Seeger and the process of producing research in audio and book form. Seeger’s official biographer, Dunaway wrote “How Can I Keep From Singing?” The book formed the basis for a three-hour radio documentary recently picked up for future broadcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. The documentary also won two national awards from the 2009 Broadcast Education Association. Dunaway is a full-time professor at University of New Mexico.
