On the path to Zero Net Energy, the robust building envelope standards, offered by European Passive House, are increasingly coming to the fore. Central to this discussion is cost-effective, high R-Value, non-thermal bridging technologies that would be attractive to the wider production home market. Is there, for example, a labor saving green alternative to the 8" - SIP/ rigid foam/ R28 wall? Looking out a decade with a climate that could easily be a lot less temperate, what is the short list of ultra light mechanical systems offering dynamic performance for backup heating and cooling? Bring your wall and mechanical system details to ADPSR's Part II discussion on ultra low energy homes.
