This star-studded birthday celebration includes the original lineup of the Hot Licks, and features special guest appearances by Rickie Lee Jones, Ray Benson, Harry Shearer, Tuck & Patti, Maria Muldaur, Jim Kweskin, John Hammond, Bruce Forman, Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Roy Rogers and Van Dyke Parks. Dan Hicks has been a Bay Area institution since the mid-1960s, a guitar-wielding trickster with an encyclopedic command of a dozen intersecting pre-World War II musical styles. His stylistic palette blends strains of jazz, country blues, Gypsy swing and bluegrass into a highly personal “Hicksian” sound, a combo that made him a commercial and critical favorite with classics like Striking It Rich, Where’s the Money? and Last Train to Hicksville.
