For 30 years, award-winning author and educator Joan Steinau Lester has been on the forefront of defining and redefining what it means to be diverse. In her latest effort, BLACK, WHITE, OTHER: In Search of Nina Armstrong, she eloquently delves into the life of fictional Bay Area teen Nina Armstrong as she struggles to find her identity as the daughter of a white mother and a black father.
