Phone: (415) 292-1233

A regular contributor to the New Yorker, Nathan Englander won the PEN/Malamud award for his first collection, For the Relief of Unbearable Urges, an international bestseller. He joins us to discuss his new book, What We Talk About When We Talk About Anne Frank, eight short stories that grapple with great questions of modern life. The title story, inspired by Raymond Carver’s masterpiece, is a provocative portrait of two marriages in which the Holocaust is played out as a devastating parlor game.
