An Unconditioned Response: Working with the Five Skandhas
Saturday, April 7
1 - 4:30 pm with Mark Lancaster In the City Center Buddha Hall, 300 Page Street The Diamond Sutra says ”… A disciple should develop a mind which is in no way dependent upon sights, sounds, smells, tastes, sensory sensations or any mental conceptions. A disciple should develop a mind which does not rely on anything." Gotama taught that our erroneous investment in the five skandhas informed by habit and ignorance lies at the root of our suffering. In this workshop we will explore the skandhas: form, feeling, perception, disposition, and consciousness. When we blindly react to the skandhas we make a conditioned response to a conditioned response. This script or loop is called samsara. Gotama’s Path suggests something new and fresh as it invites us to be co-authors in our life’s saga. Let’s explore Gotama’s Path together, sharing insights, humor, and creativity as we imagine the unimaginable. Related Bio(s):
