At just 25, Yuja Wang’s playing is remarkably mature, described as “technically dazzling and heart-stoppingly beautiful” (San Francisco Chronicle). All her piano wizardry is brought to the fore in Rachmaninoff’s Third Piano Concerto, which many consider to be the most difficult concerto in the piano repertoire. And economy of scale is key in Sibelius’s Third Symphony with its almost classical clarity of form and melody, much different from the nationalistic trends in his earlier works.
