Come see the Bay Area’s most family-friendly Nutcracker performance! This unique, full-length production includes a cast of 100 local dancers twirling alongside professional dancers like Dance Magazine’s featured ballerina—Maia Wilkens (former principle dancer of Joffrey Ballet) in the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy. This exciting performance is sure to keep Dad and the kids awake with action packed scenes like the humorous battle between soldiers and a motley crew of cowboy and pirate mice. Children will enjoy our new scene which features a gingerbread dog and a chocolate cat roaming around a childlike version of heaven. The fun abounds as children are invited to dress up as Nutcracker characters in the lobby during intermission, take a photo with the Sugar Plum Fairy, or come onstage after the performance to meet the cast. Ballet America’s Nutcracker is an entertaining and convenient way for the whole family to enjoy this holiday classic. So come join Clara and the Nutcracker Prince on a magical holiday journey as Redwood City’s Ballet America presents its annual, production of The Nutcracker on Friday, December 2, 2011, 7:00 p.m. at the historic Fox Theater, 2215 Broadway Street, Redwood City.
