Home-style Southeast Asian cuisine, including menu items from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand and other countries in the region. Each dish is made from scratch, with unique ingredients true to their country of origin. A rooftop garden provides specialty items integral to Sudar's menu, such as lemongrass, Thai basil, ginger, Kaffir limes and Calamansi limes. The 3,700-square-foot space, formerly a government building, was completely renovated following feng shui principles and features $500,000 worth of art and architectural elements acquired in Asia. Soaring ceilings accommodate a collection of massive, red silk lanterns. A mezzanine overlooks the main dining room and lounge, where 42-inch, flat-panel screens project images of Southeast Asian art and landscapes. Seating is a mix of dining tables and upholstered booths. The bar hosts a 20-seat communal table made from 100-year-old petrified wood.
