The ABC's of Quality Improvement (Qi) offers practical training on making changes to improve outpatient care. Through a combination of teaching and practice, learn how to strengthen your own improvement projects.
Curriculum
Set achievable project goals
Learn methods to introduce and test changes quickly (using the Pdsa, or short tests of change)
Collect data to measure improvements in care
Use flow charts and fishbone diagrams to diagnose problems with process improvement
Create run charts to track changes over time
Form effective teams to achieve project goals
Participants will be asked to bring an improvement idea or project to work on during the class.
Audience
The audience for this workshop includes clinic and office managers, quality improvement staff and others working on improving clinical care, patient satisfaction, or operational efficiency in the outpatient setting.
No prior quality improvement training or experience is required.
A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. Breakfast begins at 8:30am, the workshop starts at 9:00am.
Academy of Family Physicians designates this educational activity for a maximum of 5 Ama Pra Category 1 Credit(s). TM Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
The California Board of Registered Nursing certifies Cafp as a continuing education provider (number 1809)
