Pathway Tools Introductory Tutorial:
March 12th - 14th, 2012
SRI's Bioinformatics Research Group will be holding a Pathway Tools Tutorial March 12th - 14th, 2012, at SRI International in Menlo Park, California.
Introduction
The goal of the tutorial is to teach scientists how to use the Pathway Tools software to create a Pathway/Genome Database (PGDB) for an organism of interest, how to interactively update and curate a PGDB, how to publish a PGDB on the web, and how to use the Pathway Tools Omics Viewers for analyzing high-throughput data.
Tutorial Schedule
Day 1: Pathway/Genome Navigator Browsing Pathway/Genome Databases (PGDBs), Comparative Analysis tools, and Omics Viewers.
Day 2: PathoLogic Creation of a new Pathway/Genome Database, Pathway prediction, the Pathway-Hole Filler, and administering a community PGDB project. Introduction to new FBA module.
Day 3: Advanced Editing Basic object editing, advanced editing of pathways, reactions, and proteins, and recent advancements in the Pathway Tools Navigator.
Topics and scheduling are subject to change.
Tutorial Details
Each day's tutorial will last from 9:15 AM to 5:00 PM. Each day will combine lectures with lab sessions in which students apply the software to a PGDB. No programming experience is required.
