Tooraj Sharif has created a hidden gem of gastronomic delights on the Peninsula - Ecco Restaurant. It is the result of his lifelong passion for high quality dining.

Tooraj first arrived in the United States in 1976. His career in the restaurant business began in San Francisco at Le Bordeaux. After a short period, Tooraj moved to the town of Burlingame, first at Capistrano’s, then at Nathan's as Chef. Under his leadership Nathan's blossomed into the restaurant in Burlingame.

In 1986, Tooraj left Nathan's and opened Ecco Restaurant. Striving to satisfy his discriminating, demanding clientele, Tooraj focused on creativity and presentation. He believes that his success comes from constant improvement combined with high quality flavors, presentation and execution. Tooraj has complimented his exotic Mediterranean/Asian-influenced menu with a creative selection of hard-to-find wines and quality spirits.

Tooraj expanded and redecorated Ecco in 1994 to accommodate his rapidly increasing business. Now seating 75, Ecco Restaurant has gone on to be one of the San Francisco Peninsula's premiere dining experiences.
