How We Got Here: Reflecting on the Past 150 Years focuses on the history of the Jews of the Bay Area. Fred Rosenbaum (author of Cosmopolitans and Lehrhaus’ founding director) will deliver the keynote. The conference has assembled leading historians, journalists, rabbis, community activists, filmmakers, and even a performance artist in order to examine this exceptional community. Seymour Fromer (1922-2009), the visionary co-founder of the Magnes, will be honored with a video tribute.
