A collection of songs from the African-American experience. The program will include traditional West African music, early American spirituals, freedom songs, rhythm & blues, and contemporary popular music by the composers and artists who have shaped American music and culture. The men of Opus Q will be accompanied by a gospel-style combo and drum ensemble for the feel-good concert of 2012.
