Carmela DeAbreu left a career as a food scientist for mango cheesecakes, shredded beef empanadas & other foods of her native Venezuela at the Highland Sq. gathering place. Everything is created from scratch with top-notch ingredients such as European-style butter & Venezuelan El Rey chocolate. The small menu of sandwiches, quiche & soups are available at lunch only. Outrageous desserts & Venezuelan-style hot chocolate are available all day. Sandwiches $6.50, quiche $5.50.
