Trio Garufa is considered one of the most versatile contemporary interpreters of Argentine Tango, mixing a deep respect for tango's Golden Era with the innovation of the modern Nuevo Tango movement. Trio Garufa performs Classic Argentine Tangos, Argentine Folkloric Music (Chacarera, Zamba, Guarania, Gato, Chamamé) and modern Tangos from Piazzolla as well as Electro-Tango and their original compositions. The members of Trio Garufa are not only musicians of the highest caliber, but also avid tango dancers, which is reected in the pulse and syncopation of their compositions. Their music is powerful, passionate and always danceable.
They have performed extensively in Argentina, from the enchanting milongas of Buenos Aires to the concert halls of Canada and the United States, including a recent performance with Latin Grammy winner Raúl Jaurena at the Chicago Symphony Hall. Trio Garufa features Guillermo Garcia on guitar, Adrian Jost on bandoneon and Sascha Jacobsen on string bass.
Rhythmix Cultural Works (RCW) opened its doors in 2007 as a community arts center to bring people of all ages together for a wide range of high quality arts experiences.
